Tehcniche have worked with a Global Engineering firm based on the South Coast for a number of years. A recent brief from them was to recruit a new Sales Engineer for Global Market Coverage in the Marine and Offshore sectors.
A Challenging brief given this would be filling a position left vacancy from someone taking retirement. Filling a position left by someone who is retiring is often one of the trickiest projects to work on; They would have been with the business for sometime so their role is likely to be more than this new vacancy.
Taking the time to truly understanding what our clients needs are is what makes us unique, enabling us to apply our expertise in recruiting to the process. This is how we overcame this challenge and applying the managers requirements to the marketplace proved invaluable.
A second major challenge was the recruitment drive had commenced at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK so our client was mobilising their workforce to work from home so a remote interviewing and on-boarding process would be uncharted territory. We liaised with the client and candidate closely throughout to ensure the process ran smoothly for what was a panel interview over MSTeams.
Techniche managed the offer, negotiations, resignation and confirmation stages; Assisting in any hurdles or queries related to remote on-boarding. The successful recruited Sales Engineer started work during ‘Lock-Down’. Working remotely from home and feedback so far is that he is enjoying his new role and looking forward to meeting and spending time with his manager and new team when restrictions ease.
