Location: Faslane, Clyde, Scotland

Hours: 37 per week

Duration: 9 Months initially

Rate: £50-77 per hour


Techniche are working with a large Engineering Technology contractor who are seeking a Business Planning Manager to be based on site at the Faslane Naval Base on the Clyde in Scotland.

This will initially be for a period of 9 months.

The Role:

Establish and manage the demand planning process utilising associated planning tools including consistent demand profile modelling which will result in the roll out of an Integrated Business Plan and fully resourced Master Schedule for the Site.

Enter the key responsibilities and accountabilities for this role

  1. Developing demand forecast models at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a structured integrated demand planning process
  2. Ensuring data integrity of the demand forecast data within the demand forecasting system Primavera
  3. Collecting, processing and incorporating demand forecast information from a variety of sources
  4. Having full ownership of the baseline Clyde Master Schedule, underlying assumptions (including resource models) and scenario analysis, through collaboration with Planning Managers across the business
  5. Critical to the above will be effective communication across the various stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of the demand forecast
  6. Developing monthly KPI packages and drives improvements related to demand management
  7. Follows up with required stakeholders to resolve forecast issues and improve their accuracy
  8. Provide facilitation and support for monthly Demand meetings across the business working closely with key stakeholders around capacity and capability planning (Strategic Workforce Planning) to better develop the understanding and execution of demand planning


Essential Skills & Experience Required:

  • Business Planning experience
  • Project Management methodology & software (P6 / MS Project) – competent knowledge scheduling toolsets and methodologies
  • MS office (Word, Excel, Visio)

  • Excellent communicator
  • Integrated Business Planning methodology framework awareness
  • Marine Engineering / Project Planning experience / awareness
  • Proficient knowledge / application of ERP toolsets deemed applicable for role (IFS/SAP/Success Factors)
