Electronics Repair Engineer

Working independently in a small team of electronic engineers repairing a wide range of equipment from the manufacturing industry. A genuine enthusiasm for electronics is essential for success in the role due to the diverse nature of equipment that will need repaired. As a repair engineer the position involves repairing a wide range of industrial electronic equipment which will include PLC’s, Monitors, HMI’s, Drives and Servo’s to a high standard.  This will include testing the functionality of the part and liaising with purchasing to order any component necessary.

No formal qualifications required

Education and Experience, applicants must be able to demonstrate:-

  • An interest in electronics.
  • Experience in any form of electronics repairs
  • An understanding of the theory and concepts for electronic circuitry and systems.
  • Practical experience of an electronic repair based industry.
  • Have experience of repair or knowledge of any of the following: - Machine Tool Systems - PLC’s - Servo Drives - Servo Motors - Monitors-VDU’s - AC Drives - DC Drives – TV & General Domestic Brown Goods.
  • Experience in soldering and de-soldering.
  • Fault finding and reverse engineering electronic equipment to component level using oscilloscopes, meters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • A willingness to learn new skills on the job in the field of electronic engineering.
  • A desire to work in an exciting and challenging environment.
